Third edition of the Wittenstein Foundation's "shifts in perspective" series
12.05.2025

Keynote speech, live implant and digital art: On Thursday, 22 May 2025, the Wittenstein Foundation invites you to the third edition of the "shifts in perspective" event series at the TauberPhilharmonie Weikersheim. The evening is entitled: "The digital transformation of man - on the way to becoming a cyborg?
The focus of "shifts in perspective" is not sober analysis, but a creative look at socially relevant topics. Where figures, data and facts dominate, the event series aims to open up new spaces for thought. This time together with speaker Dr Patrick Kramer, internationally sought-after keynote speaker and biohacker. In his presentation, he will provide an insight into the progressive merging of humans and technology.
Technology under the skin - everyday life with the microchip
What sounds like a futuristic vision has long been part of everyday life for some people: An NFC implant - about the size of a grain of rice and placed under the skin - can fulfil a wide variety of functions. It replaces keys, access cards, passwords or even business cards. It can be used to open doors contactlessly, unlock devices or transfer digital information with a wave of the hand. The chip uses the same technology as contactless bank cards or smartphones - only it is part of the body.
Following his lecture, Dr Kramer will place such a microchip implant live on stage - anyone interested is welcome to contact the organisers. The demonstration on stage is intended to stimulate thought: about new freedoms, technical dependencies and the question of where the boundary between man and machine lies. It also makes the topic physically tangible and opens up space for the subsequent moderated discussion with the audience.
The evening will be accompanied by virtual reality artist Paul Wolff (VRketing). During the event, he will create a digital work of art "in the air" - using VR glasses and movement, visualised on a screen for the audience. In this way, the artistic creation process itself becomes part of the exploration of digital transformation.
